Youth

Youth ministry is an important part of the church. The youth make up the backbone of the church's future. In addition to Sunday school classes for primary, secondary, and high school students, there are other activities that youth can participate in. These include camps, Solid Rock Cafe, Spectacular, and worship services.

Sunday School Classes

Sunday school classes for children and youth of all ages are offered before the regular worship service on Sunday

Worship Services

Youth also play a large part during the regular worship service. Youth participate in readings, music, testimony, prayers, and ushering. In addition, the regular worship service will often include a children’s moment, which is a part of the service specifically focused on children.

Spectacular

The mission of SPECTACULAR is to create a safe, Christ-centered community that encourages young women and men to discover God, their inherent worth, and cultivate and express their giftedness.

Each year approximately 1,600 campers and their leaders gather at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa for the largest annual gathering of youth in the Community of Christ. All campers have the opportunity to participate in leadership and discipleship development, diverse worship, and expression of arts, music, and sports. During the week campers look forward to sharing in all avenues of the SPEC experience - service projects, communication workshops, basketball, musical instruction, table tennis, stage production, worship, delegation devotions, volleyball, soccer, tie-dying, cotton candy, discussions about dating and relationships, learning more about our Creator, and much more.

Solid Rock Cafe

This ministry is dedicated to encouraging faith in Jesus Christ by providing a safe place for youth to meet and share their experiences of God with the joy of music that speaks of that same journey. The Solid Rock Café is held at the Garden Grove, Washington Community of Christ Church and features a variety of live musical performances as well as Christian music spun by a D.J. Currently Solid Rock is happening on the third Saturday of the month from 6-9pm and is for grades 7-12.
